Overtime

In uAttend, you can set up Overtime pay for some or all employees.
You can specify Weekly or Daily Overtime and calculate Daily Overtime by Hours Worked or by Hour of the Day.
It is possible to define 2 Overtime Paycodes for each category – Overtime 1 and Overtime 2
Overtime is set at the Home Department Level.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Employee overtime is calculated by using the Overtime Rule in their Home Department.

To set up overtime pay for a department, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Departments tab on the main menu.
  2. Select the department from the list.
  3. Click the Overtime link.

NOTE:  If you set up overtime and you wish to apply these settings to existing clockings, you must Recalculate Timecards to reflect any changes. To recalculate timecards, click the Timecards tab, then select the Employee’s name from the list. Click the Recalculate link in the lower-right corner of the screen.

To turn ON Weekly OvertimeEdit the Weekly Rule option.

You can specify after how many hours overtime pay should begin by adding values in the Hours and Minutes drop down fields, or you can turn the setting off.

To access the Weekly Overtime 1 drop-down menu, click the Edit link.

  1. In the After fields, enter after how many hours and minutes the overtime category will be implemented.
  2. In the UpTo fields, enter after how many hours and minutes the overtime category will cease.
  3. In the Multiplier field, enter the hourly rate multiplier for this category. (only used if an Hourly Rate is specified for the Employee)

To access the Weekly Overtime 2 drop-down menu, click the Edit link and follow the instructions for Weekly Overtime 1.

The Weekly Rule can be used to implement a Clawback Policy. The Weekly Rule will take precedence over other rules enabled.

To utilise the Daily Overtime option, Edit the Daily Overtime link.

You can either specify Overtime by Hours Worked or by Hour of the Day.

To set up Daily Overtime by Hours WorkedSelect the relevant day and Overtime category and click Edit.

  3. In the Min Hours fields, enter the minimum overtime hours and minutes an employee must work before Overtime accrual begins.

To set up Daily Overtime by Hour of the DaySelect the relevant day and Overtime category and click Edit.

  1. In the From fields, enter the start time of the overtime category. (Midnight is specified as 00:00)
  2. In the To fields, enter the end time of the overtime category. (The latest allowed entry is 23:59)
  3. In the Rate field, enter the hourly rate multiplier for this category. (only used if an Hourly Rate is specified for the Employee)
  4. In the Min Hours fields, enter the minimum overtime hours and minutes an employee must work before Overtime accrual begins.
